My father found a Xiaomi 1S electric scooter from a buyback shop for $40 (worth $800), and it was labeled "broken." I opened it up and discovered that one of the battery connections to the BMS was disconnected. I soldered it back, and it worked perfectly. Now, I use it to commute to and from university. While it may not seem like much of a project, it was a fun experience.
